A new documentary film on traditional culture, planned and produced by the Pola Foundation for the Promotion of Traditional Culture, has been completed. The 50th film presents the essence of Kyogen, which transcends the generations of Mansaku Nomura, Mansai and Hiroki, spanning three generations of father and son.

The story revolves around an unusual family led by rich widow Mrs. Hondo, who stays at a luxurious hotel where Suguro stays in Wagayama Prefecture. She would act like a tyrant around her children who were afraid of her and were at her beck and call, or we could say under her control. Unfortunately, a tragedy strikes the Hondo Family while on a hike. Mrs. Hond,o who was supposed to be taking a rest on the way to the shrine, is dead. Kawahara Daisaku, the chief of the local police station, asks Suguro to help with the investigation of Mrso’sHondo’soinvestigationstigatione.

Documentary by film director Isshin Inudo on three generations of the Nomura family of the Izumi school of Kyogen: Mansaku Nomura (89), Mansai (54), and Yuki (20). Summer of 2020. Yuki is to play an important role in the future of Kyogen. He will play four roles in "Nasu Yoichi Narrative". His father Mansai and grandfather Mansaku continue to rehearse. Mansai, as artistic director of the theater, is searching for the performing art of the Corona disaster for the sake of his family. Mansaku talks about his current state of mind in light of the hardships he endured during the war. And then, Hiroki's big day arrives. What is in store? This is a new documentary that makes the most of the 8K capabilities to convey the physical presence of each of the three generations and the details of their movements.

Rikyu is a monk and a politician. He has the most profound influence on chanoyu. Rikyu is forced to commit hara-kiri by Hideyoshi Toyotomi’s order. Monk Senko Ikenobo challenges Hideyoshi Toyotomi.

Kyogen performer Nomura Mansai's speciality, Sanbaso, is said to be the oldest form of Shinto ritual in Japan's performing arts. On the occasion of his 50th birthday, Mansai took up the challenge of fusing tradition and technology with the help of media artist Daito Manabe and others to see how he could delve deeper into this "Sanbaso" and see if a new form of expression was possible. The programme will take up the challenge of fusing tradition and technology. The programme follows the trajectory of the project and explores the roots of what "Sanbaso" is all about.

The programme closely follows the birth of a new 'Macbeth' and his journey around Shakespeare. Kyogen actor Nomura Mansai and Shakespeare, and the similarities between them, are explained in an easy-to-understand way, and we come into contact with the art created by the two talents who have fused together over a long period of time.

This documentary follows 200 days in the life of contemporary artist Hiroshi Sugimoto— a leading presence in the world of modern art. He is the winner of many prestigious awards and his photographs are sold for millions of yen at overseas auctions. The film shows the sites of the Architecture series shot in southern France, the huge installation art work at 17th Biennale of Sydney, his new work Mathematics at Provence, his art studio while working on Lightning Fields, and more. It thoroughly pursues the question Sugimoto's works pose - "living in modern times, what are these works trying to tell us?" A thrilling look into the world of Hiroshi Sugimoto.

The drama stars Beat Takeshi as General Hideki Tojo, who served as Prime Minister of Japan during World War II and was later executed as a war criminal. The story's theme is said to be a look at how the Pacific War began, focusing mostly on the three month period between the Imperial Conference (Gozen Kaigi) on September 6, 1941, and the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

Kyogen actor Nomura Mansai's eldest son, Yuki (3 years old at the time), was chosen to play the role of a child monkey in the kyogen play Utsubo Saru, and together with Mansai's father, Mansaku, the three generations of the family made their first appearance on the stage. The first half of the programme is a documentary following Yuki as he trains for the traditional performance, and his father and grandfather as they strictly instruct him.

음양사 아베노 세이메이가 살고 있는 헤이안 시대에는 인간과 마물이 공존하고 있었다. 귀신이 수도에 나타나 귀족들을 엽기적인 방법으로 습격하는 일이 벌어지자 대신인 우지와라 야스마로는 세이메이에게 사건 해결을 부탁한다. 또한 야스마로의 딸인 히미코는 일식이 일어난 후부터 몽유병 증세를 보이며 밤마다 사라진다. 야스마로는 수도에 출몰하는 귀신과 히미코가 관계있을지도 모른다는 생각에 걱정한다. 한편 귀족들의 사치스러운 생활과는 달리 가난에 고통받는 서민들은 자신들의 병을 고쳐주고 있는 겐가쿠를 신으로 떠받든다. 이를 알게 된 반대파 귀족들은 야스마로 일족과 세이메이를 없애기 위해 겐가쿠를 내세워 귀신을 없애려 하는데...

Oedipus, a prince of Corinth, was prophesied to "kill his father and marry his mother." To avoid the fulfillment of this prophecy, he went on a wandering journey, drove off the monstrous Sphinx in the kingdom of Thebai, and became the king of Thebai. 원령들의 저주와 요괴 출몰로 사건과 불화가 끊이지 않았던 헤이안 시대. 궁정 관리인 미나모토 히로마사(이토 히데아키)는 당대 최고의 음양사 아베노 세이메이(노무라 만사이)를 찾아가 황실 수호를 간청하라는 지시를 받게된다. 여우의 자식이라는 괴소문 등 미스테리한 존재인 세이메이를 직접 만난 히로마사는 그의 신비로운 주술을 보고 놀라움과 함께 두려움을 금할 수 없게 된다. 그 후 여러 가지 기이한 일을 함께 겪으면서 세이메이와 히로마사는 서로 신의를 다지는 사이가 된다. 수도 주변에 맴도는 수상한 기운을 알아차린 세이메이. 히로마사는 아직 어린애기인 돈페이 친황의 몸에 이상한 일이 일어나고 있음을 세이메이에게 알린다. 얼굴을 분간할 수 없는 흉측한 모습의 괴물이 되어있는 돈페이 친황에게서 세이메이가 악령을 몰아내지만, 그것은 앞으로 일어나게 될 끔찍한 사건의 전조에 불과했다. 한편 친황의 반대 세력인 도손(사나다 히로유키)은 세력 확장과 과거의 복수를 위해 악령의 신을 불러내는 데 성공한다. 황실 수호를 하고 있는 세이메이 세력과 악령의 신을 통해 요괴 군단을 부활시킨 도손 세력간의 피할 수 없는 전쟁이 시작되는데...

This film is the memoirs of Takasugi Shinsaku about the life of his great teacher Yoshida Shoin. Yoshida Shōin (吉田 松陰, 1830-1859) was one of the most distinguished intellectuals in the closing days of the Tokugawa shogunate. He devoted to developing many Ishin Shishi who made an outstanding contribution to the Meiji Restoration. At least two of his students, Takasugi Shinsaku and Itō Hirobumi later became famous, and virtually all of the survivors of the Sonjuku group became officers in the Meiji Restoration. Takasugi led rifle companies against the shogun's army when it failed to conquer Chōshū in 1864, rapidly leading to the fall of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Ito Hirobumi became Japan's first prime minister. His admirer, Maebara Issei, was later killed rebelling against the Meiji regime. He is now enshrined in Setagayaku-（世田谷区）Tokyo, Japan.

16세기 일본 전국시대, 손님들과 함께 멧돼지 사냥을 끝낸 성주 이치몬지 히데토라는 일흔의 나이로 자신의 권력을 아들들에게 넘겨주겠다는 결심을 굳힌다. 그리고 사냥을 함께 한 다른 영주는 자신의 딸을 그의 아들과 혼인시키려 한다. 아들들을 따로 불러 모은 그는 오랫동안 곰곰이 생각해서 내린 결정이라며 장남인 타로가 자신의 뒤를 이어 가문을 이끌 것이라 선언한다. 그리고 둘째, 셋째 아들인 지로와 사부로에게는 두 번째와 세 번째 성과 그에 딸린 영토를 주겠다고 한다. 그는 난세에 외곽에서 호위대를 거느리고 자식들에게 기대어 안락하게 여생을 보낼 생각이였다. 하지만 막내인 사부로는 그 자리에서 아버지가 망령이 들었다고 비난하게 되고 이에 분개한 히데토라는 사부로와 절연한다. 충직한 탄고가 사부로를 감싸지만 그는 들은 체 만 체다. 그 과정을 지켜본 후지마키는 사부로를 자신의 영지로 받아들인다. 한편 처음에는 권력에 별로 욕심이 없었던 장남 타로는 ‘모든 권력과 호칭을 넘겨받지 못하면 그림자에 불과하다’는 아내 카에데의 부추김에 차츰 히데토라의 권력을 완전히 차지하려고 한다. 그리고 그 사이 히데토라가 타로의 부하를 화살로 쏴 죽이는 일까지 발생하면서 갈등이 점점 고조되는데...
