Akiyama is an intern, disgusted with the noise pollution caused by the bullet trains and the heart attacks that noise has been causing in older hospital patients, plots to disrupt and, in ten days, destroy a unit of the operation. Shihomi Etsuko plays a race car driver who also lends out her services to the Japanese Secret Service. Although there really isn't much of a "chase" to be seen, Shihomi does pursue a cartel of drug runners and assorted Japanese yakuza types. While the story is pure 70's exploitation and gritty crime drama, the best reason to see it is for the Martial Arts Action of Etsuko Shihomi. The action is over-the-top and at times hilarious (i.e. Shihomi battling the lead criminal atop a moving gondola or Shihomi battling a whip-wielding Catholic Nun).

Superbly entertaining action comedy with Tomisaburo Wakayama as Kuriyama Capone who learned his trade under Al Capone in Chicago. The film follows his first venture to Japan with gangster brothers Frank (Shingo Yamashiro) and Joe (Fumio Watanabe). And being chased by gangster and the FBI, including the granddaughter of Eliot Ness. The whole thing is a good amount of fun, the performances especially (Wakayama, Yamashiro, Watanabe in a rare heroic role), making this one of routine director Takashi Harada’s best pictures.

As his syndicate is eroding quickly, a major heavy industries company offers his gang the chance to chase some vagrants out of a shantytown where they are squatting on land where a factory is to be built. The job would secure steady profits for Bunta's crime ring for years to come. However, Bunta and other members of his outfit grew up in the shanty, and they would be muscling their friends and neighbors. This sets the stage for an internal struggle that complicates the violent struggle with a rival mafia organization in Tokyo.

Shigekichi Karasawa
Coal miner Isamu Oba is forced to quit his village and leave his mother and siblings behind. Mining buddy Ichiro accompanies him to Tokyo, and the pair enjoy several "fish-out-of-water" sequences before finding employment at a boxing gym with trainer Sawada and his spunky sister Tomoko. The boys also find part time night jobs as roving minstrels in the club district courtesy of benevolent gang boss Asakawa. Of course, they run afoul of boss Karasawa's cruel gang. Karasawa also has it in for Asakawa, and this indirectly throws a spanner into the works as far as Isamu's burgeoning success as a kickboxer. When Asakawa 's HQ is burned to the ground by Karasawa's men, Asakawa tries to kill Karasawa - which, of course, leads to his own gruesome death. Isamu goes on the rampage with his sword, wiping out Karasawa and men.

교수형에 처해질 운명의 재일 한국인 R은 사형 집행에도 불구하고 살아난다. 문제는 그 다음부터 일어난다. R이 자신이 누군지에 대해 전혀 기억을 못하는 것이다. 사형 집행관들은 R의 기억을 되살려 자신이 저지른 살인 행위를 일깨우기 위해 온갖 수단과 방법을 가리지 않는다. R에게 살인 행위를 재현하도록 하고 R의 주변인들을 동원하기도 한다.
1958년에 일어났던 실제 사건을 실험적 기법으로 다룬 일본 누벨바그의 기수 오시마 나기사의 대표작 가운데 하나. 다큐멘터리와 극영화, 판타지와 리얼리즘이 뒤섞이는 형식적 반란이 돋보이며, 음울하면서도 유머가 살아있는 문제작이다. 사형수를 일깨우는 과정에서 재일 한국인에 가해지는 일본사회의 차별과 국가의 역할, 극단적인 민족주의, 상상과 현실의 관계 등이 풍자적으로 그려진다.

Onna no Toba, is the first film in long-running series Daiei Studio's Woman Gambler with Kyoko Enami starring where she plays the woman gambler Ogin. The series gets cited on lists of action yakuza films or woman avenger films, but once the films are actually viewed, it is quickly obvious they are not generally about action except in the nominal sense of acts of gambling. And while Ogin is in fact sometimes motivated by revenge, she is not as a rule a martial artist or a killer, & this series tends to place its female hero as far away from the "action babe" method as she can get. Ogin is an honest dealer in the criminal underworld of yakuza-run gambling. She is samurai-like in that she sets out to become Japan's number one dealer, much as a samurai might go on his "warrior's pilgrimage" to become Japan's number one swordsman.

쇼치쿠 누벨바그의 또 다른 총아였던 요시다 기주의 데뷔작. 삶을 지루하고 무력하게 느끼는 청년들이 범죄행각을 통해 탈출구를 찾으려 한다는 내용. 당시 유행하던 태양족 영화의 분위기를 그대로 담고 있지만, 좀더 차갑고 날렵한 면이 돋보인다. 흔히 요시다 기주의 최초 걸작은 , 가장 진보적으로 실험한 작품은 이 꼽히는데, 이 영화에선 누벨바그에 대한 영향력을 한껏 자인하고 있다. 특히, 요시다 기주는 고다르의 의 마지막 장면을 영화의 엔딩에서 되풀이하며 일종의 헌사를 바친다. 은 이 시기 태양족 영화 중에서는 다소 차가운 쪽에 속하는 듯하다.

일반 병사가 된 카지는 군대의 부조리를 보지 못하고 매번 부조리한 상황에 반항하게 된다. 하지만 자신과 같이 인간적인 면을 가지고 있는 선임 신조에게 끌려 그의 사상인 공산주의에 조금씩 끌리게 된다. 그러다 부상을 당한 카지는 병원에 입원을 하게 되고 그곳에서 자신과 같은 뜻을 가진 단게를 만나고 마음의 위안을 가지고 그곳에서 퇴원을 하며 자신의 고향 친구인 카게야마가 자신의 부대의 소대장으로 온다. 친구 카케야마의 도움을 통하여 신병들을 자신의 방법대로 인간적인 방법을 통하여 훈련시키게 되지만 이것을 탐탁치 않게 생각했던 선임들에게 매번 당하고 지내다 전쟁이 시작되고 카지는 전쟁에 휘말리게 되고 일본군은 대패를 하게 된다.

비둘기를 파는 소년을 충격적으로 묘사한 오시마 나기사 감독의 첫 데뷔작. 비둘기의 귀소본능을 이용해, 같은 비둘기를 몇번이나 팔고 있는 가난한 소년과 부르조아 소녀의 교우를 통해 현대사회의 밑바탕에 숨겨져 있는 계급적인 단절에 절망한다는 충격적인 내용이다. 특히, 소년이 비둘기를 사살한다는 강렬한 라스트 씬과 영화작가의 탄식이 스크린 곳곳에서 신음처럼 들려오는 멋진 작품.
A woman diver in great peril is rescued by Shinji, a fisherman. But his deed is belittled by Takiko, another diver, as a rash act. While being utilized in this manner, Satoko is nevertheless glad to be able to help the people of Ant Village, especially the children, and when the summer vacation comes she decides to take the children on an excursion to Hakone. To raise funds for this purpose she becomes a rag-picker herself.
