Due to the economic crisis he experienced, Jaka Sunarya was forced to sell the family heired house he had left 20 years ago. The house is not well maintained and is located deep in the interior of the village. Together with Rika, his wife who is pregnant, they enjoy the house as much as possible before potential buyers arrive. But successively they do things that are considered pamali without them knowing it. As a result, many oddities appeared while they were in the house. While cleaning up, Jaka finds his late mother's diary, which contains records from an unknown life, as well as the existence of spirits that threaten their lives.

유독 보라색을 좋아하는 고3 유니는 대학입시를 준비하고 있다. 시골 어느 집이나 그렇듯 넉넉지 않은 집안 살림에 원하는 공부를 계속하기 위해서는 장학금을 받는 것이 중요하다. 마음에 드는 보라색 물건이 있으면 도둑질도 서슴지 않는 그녀는, 유일하게 어려워하는 과목인 문학 성적을 올리기 위해 자신을 짝사랑하는 친구에게 시쓰기 숙제를 부탁하기도 한다. 얼굴도 예쁘장하고 성적도 곧잘 나오는 유니를 눈여겨보는 남자들은 학교 밖에도 많고, 그녀가 졸업하기도 전에 청혼을 하기 시작한다. 그녀 주변에는 이미 결혼한 친구들도 있지만 자신이 원하는 것이 무엇인지는 아직 정확히 알 수 없다. 남자들의 청혼을 거절하자 작은 동네에는 안 좋은 소문이 돌기 시작한다. After his mothers death, 12-year-old Jaya (Iqbal S. Manurung) is sent to his father, Johar (Didi Petet), who works as a supervisor on a jermal (a fishing platform perched on log stilts in the middle of the sea). Johar is shocked, never knowing he has a son, and rejects the boy as his kin. Fully aware he cant bring Jaya back to land due to a dark past, Johar is forced to accept the boy as a worker on the site. Faced with constant rejection from his father and relentless bullying by the other boys who work on the jermal, Jaya decides to take fate into his own hands. He gives up hope on being accepted and learns the skills and attitude needed to survive on the jermal. Jaya increasingly becomes like the other boys: a tough, rough survivor; while Johar is forced to gradually face and accept his past. Eventually, both Johar and Jaya learn that they are bound by their past, united by the space in which they move, and connected by the inescapable truth.
