위고 세나르(알랭 들롱 분)는 사회의 특수 소외 계층인 집시다. 집시들의 권리를 옹호하기 위해 살인을 저지르고 3년전 형을 구형 받았으나 탈옥하고 만다. 그의 동료들 역시 은행을 털다가 20년형을 구형 받았다. 경찰은 이들을 2년 전부터 쫓고 있으나 이들은 오히려 대담하게 절도 행각을 계속하며 가난하고 불쌍한 소외계층 사람들을 도와준다. 사회에서 멸시 받는 집시의 후예, 그는 강도 짓을 해 번 돈으로 어려운 이웃을 돕는 등, 사회에 대한 불만을 이상한 행동으로 해소한다. 그러나 위고 세나르(지탕)은 가는 곳마다 묘하게 금고 털이범 얀 퀵과 얽히게 되는데. 고독한 두 사나이들의 운명은 과연 어떻게 될 것인지... 아무도 도와주는 이 없는 이 집시의 목숨을 구해주는 수의사는 돈 다발을 건네는 주인공에게 악수 한번이면 충분하다고 거절한다.

끌로드 베리 감독의 유년시절 경험이 반영된 작품. 2차 대전 막바지의 프랑스, 반복되는 독일의 공습을 피해 유대인 부부는 자신의 아들을 전쟁 기간 동안 프랑스의 시골 마을로 피신을 보낸다. 소년은 자신이 유대인임을 숨기고 노부부 밑에서 전쟁이 끝나기를 기다리며 지낸다. 이렇게 반유대주의자 할아버지(미셸 시몽)와 유대인 소년의 따뜻한 동거 일기가 시작된다.

Thérèse is living in a provincial town, unhappily married to Bernard, a dull, pompous man whose only interest is preserving his family name and property. They live in an isolated country mansion surrounded by servants. Early in her marriage her only comforts are her fondness for Bernard's pine-tree forest, which was her primary reason for marrying him, and her love for her sister-in-law and Bernard's half-sister, Anne. The movie recounts in flashback the circumstances that led to her being charged with poisoning her husband.

'파리에서 만들어진 가장 아름다운 영화'라는 평가를 받았던 이 영화는 감독인 아녜스 바르다에게 최초로 국제적인 명성을 가져다주었다. 클레오의 모든 행동과 사건들은 실제로 물리적 시간의 흐름에 따라 묘사됨으로써 그녀가 죽음에 대한 두려움에 사로잡혀 있는 모습과 그 두려움을 벗어나게 되는 과정이 동시적으로 포착된다. 영화 속에서 점차로 그녀는 자기 자신은 물론이고 죽음과 삶에 대한 새로운 시선과 통찰을 향해 나아가기 때문이다. 바르다는 이 작품에서 관습적인 이야기 전개 대신에 사진적인 것과 영화적인 것의 특성을 최대한 활용하고 있는데, 미와 추는 조우하고 그로테스크함(살아있는 개구리를 먹는 남자)과 사랑스러움(클레오의 공적 이미지)은 병치되며, 빛과 어둠, 인공적인 것과 자연적인 것은 시각적 대조를 이루고, 밝은 뮤지컬 코미디와 비극적 드라마가 서로 엮어 들어감으로써 영화는 전반적으로 대립을 통해서 미묘한 결을 구성해간다.

Seven directors each dramatize one of the seven deadly sins in a short film. In "Anger," a domestic argument over a fly in the Sunday soup escalates into nuclear war. In "Sloth," a movie star would rather pay someone to tie his shoe than bend over to do it himself, and he can't be bothered to accept a starlet's sexual favors. In "Gluttony," a peasant family on its way to the funeral of a relative who died from indigestion stops regularly to eat and drink en route, arriving in time to eat some more. In "Greed," a high-class prostitute refunds the price of a cadet's lottery ticket. In "Pride," an unfaithful wife finds reason to reform. And so on through lust and envy.

A young man who lives on women meets his match in the young wife of a rich industrialist. Their affair is doomed by her taste for luxury and his dislike of her coolness.

Victor (Jean-Pierre Cassel) and Suzanne (Genevieve Cluny) are a couple at odds about commitment in this light, fast-paced comedy-drama by Philippe de Broca. Suzanne needs more reassurance from Victor about the future of their relationship. He is a painter with an inspired creative side who finds it difficult to understand Suzanne's point of view. They are happy together; what is the problem? So when a friend comes into the picture and proposes to Suzanne, Victor suddenly realizes that Suzanne was right. Without a formal commitment, the suddenly insecure man does not like the view from the opposite shore.
