  제2차 세계 대전 중 영국의 한적한 시골에서 혼자 사는 미스 프라이스(Eglantine Price: 안젤라 랜스베리 분)는 마술통신대학에서 마녀 수업을 한 올챙이 마녀인데, 런던 모습으로 전쟁 고아가 된 세 남매 찰리(Charlie: 이안 웨이힐 분)와 캐리(Carrie: 신디 오캘러헌 분), 폴(Paul: 로이 스마트 분)을 떠맡게 된다. 빗자루 타는 연습을 하다 아이들에게 들킨 프라이스는 입막음으로 여행 주문을 폴에게 가르쳐 주는데, 통신 대학이 폐교 됐다는 소식을 듣고 애들과 함께 여행 주문을 이용해 침대를 타고 런던으로 간다. 학장 브라운 교수에게 중요한 마술 주문을 배우기 위한 것이다. 브라운 교수는 그 주문이 적힌 책을 반쪽만 갖고 있는 다른 반쪽을 찾기 위해 시장 거리에 간 프라이스 일행은 헌책방 주인에게서 놀라운 이야기를 듣는다.

영국 런던의 브리티쉬 뱅크에 다니고 있는 조지 뱅크스, 여성 참정권을 주장하고 다니는 그의 아내 위니프레드 뱅크스, 그리고 매번 유모들을 쫓아내다시피 하는 말썽꾸러기 아이들 제인과 마이클. 그 날도 아이들은 유모 몰래 사라져 버리고 유모는 더 이상 못 참겠다며 가방을 싸들고 집을 나선다. 집으로 돌아오던 뱅크스 부인은 유모를 말려보지만 소용이 없다. 결국 유모는 뱅크스댁을 떠나게 되고, 그제서야 아이들이 돌아온다. 뱅크스씨는 신문에 유모를 구한다는 기사를 내려하고, 아이들은 자신들이 원하는 유모의 조건을 적어가지고 온다. 붉은 뺨을 하고 있어야 하고, 재미있는 놀이를 많이 알고 있는 유모를 원한다는 것이다. 그러나 뱅크스씨는 이 종이를 찢어버린다. 다음날, 면접을 보러 많은 사람들이 몰려오지만, 우산을 타고 내려온 메리 포핀스의 바람에 모두들 날아가 버린다. 어떨결에 메리 포핀스를 유모로 정하게 된 뱅크스씨. 아이들은 가방에서 옷걸이며, 화분이며 이것 저것을 꺼내는 메리 포핀스를 보며 신기해 한다. 메리 포핀스와 노래를 부르며 방을 치우고 굴뚝 청소부 버트와 함께 그림속 축제가 열리는 마을로 여행도 가고, 웃으면 붕 뜨는 알버트를 만나 함께 웃으며 즐거운 시간을 보낸다. 어느날 아이들은 아버지를 따라 브리티쉬 은행에 가게 되는데, 그곳에서 마이클이 가진 2펜스 때문에 소동이 벌어지는데...

연애도, 사랑도 하지 않고 매일 작곡만 하는 로저는 영리한 달마티아 개 퐁고의 작전으로 도도한 여성 아니타와 사랑에 빠지게 되고, 결국 결혼에 성공한다. 퐁고 역시 아니타의 애완견인 페르디타와 결혼한다. 페르디타는 곧 15마리의 강아지를 낳는다. 한편 아니타의 동창이자 엄청난 부자인 크루엘라는 모피라면 정신을 차리지 못하는 악녀로, 아름다운 달마티아 개의 가죽을 모피로 만들기 위해 새끼 강아지들을 납치한다.구출 작전에 돌입한 퐁고와 페르디타는 크루엘라의 낡은 성에서 자신들의 새끼 15마리 외에도 이미 잡혀와 있던 84마리의 새끼 달마티아 개들을 발견하는데...

나른한 여름 오후, 언니가 읽어주는 역사 얘기를 들으며 졸고 있던 꼬마 소녀 앨리스는 하얀 토끼가 뛰어가는 걸 보고 뒤를 쫓아간다. 토끼 구멍 속으로 따라 들어가 보니 그곳은 완전히 신비한 세계다. 작은 문의 손잡이는 말을 하고, 테이블 위의 약병을 마시니까 앨리스는 병속에 들어 갈 정도로 아주 작아져서, 자기가 흘렸던 눈물의 파도를 타고 열쇠 구멍을 지나간다. 앨리스가 도착한 곳에서는 뱃사람 도도를 비롯한 한 떼의 무리가 파도치는 바닷가를 달리며 젖은 몸을 말리자는 노래를 부르고 있었다. 물 속에서 아무리 빙글빙글 돌아봤자 몸은 마르지 않는다고 얘기를 해 봐도 듣지 않는데...

This is the story of the historic 1938 flight of Douglas 'Wrong Way' Corrigan. Mr. Corrigan starred in this film, which chronicled his infamous flight. On July 17, 1938, Mr. Corrigan loaded 320 gallons of gasoline (40 hours worth) into the tiny, single engine plane. While expressing his intent to fly west to Long Beach, CA, Mr. Corrigan flew out of Floyd Bennett Field heading east over the Atlantic. Instrumentation in the plane included two compasses (both malfunctioned) and a turn-and-bank indicator. The cabin door was held shut with baling wire. Nearly 29 hours later, he landed in Baldonnel near Dublin. He forever claimed to be surprised at arriving in Ireland rather than California. He returned to the US as a hero, with a ticker tape parade in New York and received numerous medals and awards.

McCord's gang robs the stage carrying money to pay Indians for their land, and the notorious outlaw "The Oklahoma Kid" Jim Kincaid takes the money from McCord. McCord stakes a "sooner" claim on land which is to be used for a new town; in exchange for giving it up, he gets control of gambling and saloons. He gets his pictures but only after a romance with the Colonel's daughter Pamela, saving his wimpy, hacked-off brother Don from being a dupe of the gun-runners, and run-ins with spies and throat-cutting tribesman. For a finale, he saves the British Army.

Singer Joan Whitney, called the "Sweetheart of the Navy" by sailors, is struggling to re-open the Snug Harbor Cafe. After her partner, Richard, skips town with the money owed to their creditors, the club opens unceremoniously. Two of Joan's sailor friends, Andy and Pete, offer to help her raise money for the club by staging a fight with Bumper Martin, boxing champion of the fleet. At Andy's request, straight-laced yeoman Eddie Harris replaces him in the upcoming fight. Andy and Pete then intimidate or coerce the sailors into betting on the fight, promising to give Joan the profits. Navy Commander Lodge, who is grooming Eddie for the Naval Academy at Annapolis, is against the fight, however, and Joan decides to "vamp" Eddie to make him fight.

Cowboy Larry O'Day and his sidekick Lucky Smith happen upon a distraught Barbara Hartwell, who is about to be arrested for the murder of her uncle. But Carter, of Carter and Barton, just signed a big contract for furs and Buffalo meat so they want the herds. The only way they can get them is to rile the Indians up enough to go on the warpath and break the treaty. After the trouble starts, the Indians get the Colonel's daughter and hold her prisoner. Movie star Gloria Blossom (Jeanette Loff) is unhappy with her press agent's (Eddie Foy, Jr.) attempts at publicity. After reading newspaper stories about other stars marrying into royalty, she demands that Eddie "promote me a husband with a title within 24 hours". With the dubious assistance of reporter Don Barclay and photographer Billy Nelson he talks the first man with a British accent that he meets into marrying Gloria, fooling her into believing he is a Duke. The trouble is that the man is a big fan of Gloria the movie star and is madly in love with her, so after the wedding, when she finds out the truth, her new husband refuses to divorce her. A wild free-for-all fight ensues in the hotel. In typical Hal Roach comedy fashion, numerous innocent bystanders are pulled into the action.

At a ritzy beauty salon, while a mud pack is on her face, a wealthy socialite invites Thelma and Patsy, two salon attendants, to a party, mistakenly thinking they are social acquaintances whom she wants to entertain a visiting count. Just before our working-class pair arrives at the party, the hostess is called away to see to an ill dog. Thelma tries to behave in a refined way, but Patsy, with a head full of practical jokes and a bra filled with trick gadgets, turns the party on its head. The butler calls the hostess back to her home. Is Thelma and Patsy's moment in high society coming to a crashing end?

Oddly enough for a Roach comedy the premise of MIXED NUTS is grounded in topical political satire aimed at the New Deal, although the satire is of a very lightweight (and light-hearted) nature. The film begins at a city council meeting where an unidentified politician announces that the government has released $50,000 for the relief of unemployed plumbers. This prompts applause, but also a pointed question from an angry woman who wants to know what the government is going to do for the members of her profession: chorus girls. The politician glibly replies that the administration has set aside money—two million dollars, no less!—for the re-education of chorus girls, "to fit them for the better things in life."
