Twelve-year-old Tommy reluctantly moves with his father from the big city to a small Lapp village - the childhood home of his mother, who has recently died. 스토퍼(젠스 알비누스)와 그의 친구들은 삼촌의 저택에 모여 백치 행위에 몰두하며 살게 된다. 아들을 잃어 마음 속에 상처를 입은 카렌(보딜 조르겐센)은 아이의 장례식 전날 우연히 한 레스토랑에서 이들을 만나게 된다. 처음에 백치들의 행동에 불쌍함을 느끼고 합류한 카렌은 이들의 백치 행동이 약속된 게임임을 알고 흥분한다. 멤버들은 분열되기 시작하고 스토퍼는 마지막으로 한 가지 제안을 하게 된다. 자신들의 백치 행위가 진실한 것임을 증명하기 위해 이들을 가장 아끼고 사랑하는 가족들 앞에서 백치 행위를 하는 것이다. 모두의 동의하에 시도하지만 멤버들의 대부분이 실패하고 그룹은 와해된다. 이를 안타깝게 지켜보던 카렌은 멤버 중 한 명을 데리고 자신의 집으로 간다. 굳은 결심을 하고 집으로 돌아온 카렌에게 가족들은 냉담하게 대하지만 결국 카렌은 자신의 진실을 표현한다.

The basic story of a young criminal not quite living up to his won ideals of "not to give a damn" sidesteps out of his criminal career while dragging his younger brother into it, could have been interesting. Unfortunately the implementation is simply not good enough. As so often with Danish movies, there is little appreciation for detail thus leaving us with hoodlums talking like they've done time at a business academy rather than a prison. Dialects completely out of here and idiosyncratic bikers without bikes or even character for that matter. An ever accelerating surrealism towards the end doesn't help to clear the slow pace of this film but it does give a glimpse of what the story could have unfolded to become.

심령술에 빠져 노후를 보내고 있는 드루쎄 부인(키르스텐 롤페스)은 적적함을 달래기 위해 상습적으로 병원에 입원한다. 어느날 그녀는 병원에 어린 소녀 메리의 영혼이 떠돌고 있음을 느끼고 메리의 억울한 죽음에 얽힌 사연을 알게 된다. 메리의 죽음은 의사 헬머(에른스트 휴고 예어가르트)의 의료사고와 관련이 있는 것으로 헬머는 자신의 과오를 숨기기 위해 수술 기록을 없애려 한다. 그러던 어느날 보건 장관이 병원의 감사를 나오면서 헬머 뿐 아니라 킹덤의 행정을 맡고 있는 모즈거드 박사 등 병원 의료진들은 긴장한다. 한편 주디스는 전 애인의 아이를 임신한 사실을 뒤늦게 알게 되고 뱃 속의 태아는 비정상적인 속도로 자라난다. 죽은 메리의 영혼은 점점 더 자주 출몰하고 병원 전체의 묵은 비리가 서서히 드러나기 시작한다.
