Em Minangkabau, Sumatra, Yuda um profissional qualificado de Silat Harimau está nos preparativos finais para iniciar seus antigos ritos "Merantau" um ritual de séculos que é carregado por seus jovens, que irão vê-lo sair do conforto de sua idílica aldeia rural e fazer seu próprio nome na movimentada cidade de Jacarta. Após uma série de eventos deixar Yuda desabrigado e incerto sobre seu futuro, uma chance aparece quando ele ajuda a orfã Astri a não se tornar a próxima vítima do tráfico humano europeu, comandado por Ratger e seu braço direito Lars. Daí pra frente Yuda terá seu batismo de fogo, quando se ver obrigado a encarar seus perseguidores numa corrida desenfreada pra salvar Astri e seu irmão mais novo Adit, num filme com muita ação e adrenalina.
