Residencia (2004)

Um grupo de pessoas finge sempre ter problemas mentais, argumentando ser contra a hipocrisia da classe média. Nos momentos em que estão em contato com outras pessoas e até mesmo aqueles em que estão sozinhos, deixam o seu "idiota interior" aflorar. Em um restaurante o grupo encontra Karen, uma mulher que parece não ter preconceitos contra a quebra dos rituais burgueses feita por eles e a levam para a casa onde moram todos juntos.

No subúrbio de uma cidade dinamarquesa, um jovem pastor chega para trabalhar na igreja local e é persuadido por um assistente a freqüentar aulas de italiano em um curso noturno. Não demora muito e o sacerdote torna-se o centro de um grupo de pessoas para quem o destino reservou golpes um tanto duros, e, aos poucos, cada uma delas vai tentando superar seus problemas, buscando a melhor solução.

À medida que o resgate se torna cada vez mais remoto surge entre eles a idéia de montar em pleno deserto a peça Rei Lear, de William Shakespeare, como forma de passar o tempo e atenuar as tensões crescentes. "Não demorará muito para que estejamos brigando uns contra os outros por um gole de água" vaticina um personagem no filme. As malditas interrelações humanas encenadas com o texto shakespeariano não superam a incapacidade de conviver em grupo harmonicamente. "O estupendo streap tease das necessidades humanas" diz um personagem em certa altura.

The film is made in the Dogme95 tradition, so no costumes, no lighting, no props or sets, which gives the film a gritty texture appropriate to the story.

This film has been designated at Dogma #15 by the Danish film group Dogme95.
