Em pleno Outono de 1997, uma galeria americana decide comprar, através da dádiva de um milionário, um importantíssimo quadro que estava em Paris. Para reforçar a importância do acontecimento a galeria pediu à Royal National Gallery de Inglaterra que enviasse o seu mais ilustre conhecedor de arte no sentido deste apresentar a obra. Este seria o maior erro da história da Grierson Gallery, pois os Ingleses não lhe iriam disponibilizar a pessoa que eles tanto pretendiam. O "escolhido" seria o empregado mais detestável que possuíam, pois era a única forma que encontraram para se verem livres dele. Quem é o famoso empregado? Mr. Bean. 007 é o seu Q.I.

O filme se passa em 1807 na cidade de Puebla, na Nova Espanha. Leo San Juan, um menino tímido de 9 anos, mora com a avó e o irmão mais velho, Nando. Leo vive constantemente com medo depois que seu irmão lhe contou a lenda da bruxa Nahuala, que mora em uma casa mal-assombrada.

Puff (Rhys Ifans) nasceu e cresceu entre selvagens, desconhecendo qualquer forma de civilização. Descoberto pelo dr. Nathan Bronfman (Tim Robbins), ele é levado a um laboratório para ser estudado. Lá Nathan tenta domesticá-lo e, em especial, conter sua excitação sexual. Lila Jute (Patricia Arquette), a esposa de Nathan, tenta proteger o lado simples de Puff. Só que ela tem um problema hormonal que faz com que seu corpo seja coberto de pêlos, o que atrai a atenção de seu protegido.

Um americano, que trabalha como gerente de uma central de atendimento, fica chocado ao saber que a companhia onde trabalha vai fechar, passando a operar da Índia. Incumbido de liderar o processo de transição e treinar o seu substituto em Mubai, ele vai para lá e fica perplexo com a diferença cultural, mas com a ajuda de uma funcionária chamada Asha, ele eventualmente começa a aproximar-se de seus novos colegas e aprende a apreciar as coisas a sua volta.

Ana, uma artista adolescente, é criada em Ibiza por seu pai alemão Klaus em um estilo de vida naturalista. Ela conhece Justine, que a convida a se mudar para Madri e obter educação artística e apoio financeiro. Ana faz amizade com Linda, conhece o problemático Said, um jovem saharaui, e mais tarde é hipnotizada por Anglo, que abre uma porta para suas memórias e vidas passadas.

The Colegio de Arquitectos de Catalunya commissioned Pere Portabella to make this film for the Joan Miró retrspective exhibit in 1969. There wew heated discussions on whether it would be rudent to screen the film during the exhibit. Portabella took the following stante: "either both films are screened or ther don't screen any" and, finally, both Miro l'Altre and Aidez l'Espagne were shown. The film was made by combining newsreels and film material from the Spanish Civil War with prints by Miró from the series "Barcelona" (1939-1944). The film ends with the painter's "pochoir" known as Aidez l'Espagne.
