The Driver is hired by a nervous movie manager to spy on a paranoid actor's wife. During his tailing of the wife, the Driver describes the right way to tail someone. As he follows her he begins to fear what he might learn of her apparently tragic life. He discovers the wife is fleeing the country and returning to her mother's, and that she's been given a black eye, likely by her husband. He returns the money for the job, refusing to tell where the wife is, and drives off telling the manager never to call him again.

So when he accidentally injures a reporter during an interview, Tiger forswears his boxing career to care for the wheelchair bound journalist. Unbeknownst to Tiger, the reporter is exaggerating the severity of his injuries in the hopes of winning a financial settlement. The boxer's selfless behavior soon triggers a change of heart in the faking journalist, who must find a way to convince Tiger to return to the ring without risking their newfound friendship.

One night, Angie was particularly low in spirits, she went to see Cheung at the club where he sang. She ended up sleeping with him. Stricken by a guilty conscience, Angie refused to see Cheung again.
