It is night in Warsaw. Two very different homes. In one, a father watches sports lying on the sofa, expecting the son to do the same. In another apartment, a wealthy-looking mother sits at the table to dine with her daughter, completely different from her. At the same time, the boy and the girl embark on a nocturnal adventure of transformation, during which they strip off the various stratifications of gender that they have inherited. The streets of the city are transformed into a liberating walkway. When by chance they meet – face to face, body to body – they mirror each other in silence, offering comfort, safety.

A few years back tragic events tied the fate of three Catholic priests. From then on they meet on every anniversary of the disaster to celebrate their survival. On an everyday basis they have their ups and downs. Lisowski works at the curia in a big city, has a career and is dreaming of the Vatican. Problem is, archbishop Mordowicz, an opulent church official who uses his political influence to build the largest sanctuary in Poland, gets in his way. The second priest, Trybus, is a village parson. He ministers to a poor community and gives in to human weaknesses more and more often. Kukuła is not faring well either. Despite his fervent faith, he loses the trust of his parishioners actually overnight. Soon the stories of the three clergymen are going to join once again.

A improvável aliança entre Socha e os judeus se torna uma relação que se infiltra mais profundamente na consciência de Socha. O filme é também uma extraordinária história de sobrevivência de como estes homens, mulheres e crianças tentaram enganar a morte certa durante 14 meses de perigo cada vez mais intenso.

Rembrandt rapidamente se apercebe que há uma conspiração em marcha e através dessa pintura encomendada está disposto a pôr a nu os conspiradores, construindo a sua acusação sob a forma de um quadro que desvela o lado hipócrita e negro da época de ouro da sociedade holandesa.

Haley interpreta Romek, um garoto judeu de 11 anos separado da família, pouco antes da deportação de todo o gueto para os campos de extermínio. Escondido dentro de um saco de batatas, ele é levado para um vilarejo, onde é adotado por um casal de fazendeiros.
