O tempo parece ter estagnado em uma vila no litoral galego. Todos estão paralisados, embora ainda possamos ouvir suas vozes: eles falam sobre fantasmas, bruxas e monstros. Três mulheres chegam em busca de Rubio, um marinheiro que desapareceu recentemente no mar.

O terceiro longa-metragem do galego Enciso encara o fascismo de frente. O filme transcorre nas sombras do regime de Franco, com um roteiro baseado em textos de diversos escritores espanhóis e um enredo desencadeado pelo retorno do misterioso Anxo (interpretado por Misha Bies Golas) à sua aldeia após desaparecer durante a Guerra Civil Espanhola. As pessoas ao seu redor descrevem aquela época, suas memórias e suas vidas ulteriores com a escolha entre submissão e resistência ecoando nas palavras de cada orador. A cinematografia de Mauro Herce transmite a luz e força de espíritos individuais enquanto a escuridão paira sobre suas cabeças.

Guanches é o nome dado ao povo nativo das ilhas Canárias, que vivia ainda na Idade da Pedra quando as ilhas foram ocupadas pelos castelhanos, acabando erradicados em menos de um século. Este hipnótico ensaio, integralmente composto por imagens de arquivo, parte dos registos sonoros de um arqueólogo que, nos anos 1980, recolheu testemunhos junto dos pastores locais com o desejo de conhecer melhor esse povo. Só que a dupla de realizadores desmonta os mitos coloniais do investigador e apresenta o complexo mapa de poderes com o qual se escreve o discurso histórico.
