Francisco is escorted by Sergeant Martinez and a group of soldiers in search of a marijuana plantation. Francisco has promised to show them the way in exchange for a monetary reward, but apparently, it is complicated to remember the exact location. By finding the field by another group of soldiers who accompanied them, Francisco ask for a part of the reward ... But things are not always as one would like.

Rafael is a quiet and dignified janitor who buys a new pair of shoes to celebrate his imminent retirement from the large corporate facility where he's worked for 30 years. When Lidia's boss dies, leaving everything to her dog, and Rafael's plans get derailed, they both turn to criminal subterfuge to get what their harsh lot in life has denied them.
Andres reaches the Mexican border to cross into the United Sates. There between each attempt, he discovers that Tijuana is a troubled city. As he waits there, Andres is not only confronted with his feelings and what he left behind, but also with those he meets.
