Sinopsis
In the American oilfields, a fugitive from justice's destiny is intertwined with the fortunes and the misfortunes of a small oil company that hires him as a roughneck.
Jeff Dawson regresa a la empresa de su antiguo jefe, Ward 'Paco' Conway (Anthony Quinn), que ahora se ha convertido en un hombre rico gracias al petróleo, pero éste le rechaza porque le dominan los celos, ya que sabe que Jeff tuvo algo en el pasado con su mujer, la seductora Marina (Barbara Stanwyck).
