Mousy, the laundry guy, is attacked several times by an angry theatre troupe member. Although he survives, his friend doesn't. So, he overcomes his cowardice and decides to avenge his friend's death.

Mientras Charlot crea caos y desconcierto en unos grandes almacenes, el gerente y su ayudante conspiran para robar el dinero guardado en la caja fuerte del establecimiento.

Los intentos de Stan por ayudar a mantener a raya a la chantajiste de Ollie hacen incurrir en la ira de la señora Laurel, que se venga con un hacha.

Stan y Ollie viajan a las montañas por la salud de Ollie y estacionan su caravana cerca de un pozo en el que una pandilla de licoreros ha arrojado su alcohol ilegal anteriormente; y los muchachos proceden a saciar su sed pensando que es agua de montaña rica en hierro. Sin embargo, el verdadero problema no comienza hasta que una pareja casada de automovilistas se detiene para pedir prestada gasolina, y el marido, que ya está de mal humor, deja a su esposa sedienta con los niños mientras él se va a llenar el tanque de gasolina vacío de su automóvil. The mildly funny film that shows all the troubles of a man named Lester Snapwell (Keaton), who, in the late 1860's, tries to photograph his sweetheart, Clementine, and her mother. However, he has too much trouble with the bulky camera. Then he is accidentally killed and father time transports him forward in time. In each successive period he struggles with the photographic technology of the day. Then he arrives in the 1960's where the new Kodak Instamatic" camera puts all his troubles to rest.
