Losers and Winners (2007)

What does being a Jew mean nowadays? Emanuel Goldfarb, a Jewish journalist, is asked by the Director of a Jewish community in Germany, to respond to an invitation by a professor to tell his pupils about his life as a Jew living in Germany. This conversation, performed by Goldfarb and the Director of the community, is the only scene of Oliver Hirschbiegel's film « Ein ganz gewohnlicher Jude » presented at the Film and Television Festival of Genève, which was shot outdoors and it's the only moment where something apparently happens.

Stevie, a precocious 14-year-old girl must cope with the instabilities of her immoderate parents. When they decide to move to a small provincial town in Germany, Stevie attempts to slip into a normal life. Whilst her parents playfully escape their responsibilities, Stevie tries to make a good impression in town, spreading stories of grandeur and claiming to be the daughter of a diplomat. She makes progress. Yet the good weather doesn’t last and before long, she discovers that her parents have once more resorted to illegal means, as a way of supporting their leisurely lifestyle. As friends and hangers-on of her parents fill their new home, the chaos continually mounts. It is in this atmosphere of physical and emotional destruction, that Stevie must now start to define herself and perhaps even break free.

With just 24 hours in which to organize the biggest party the city's ever seen, Yan Eq, Jamie, Sera and others must deal with their love lives, tenuous living arrangements and various shady characters on their way to hip-hop glory.

Cuenta la historia de Gitti y Chris, una extraña pareja que intenta disfrutar de unas vacaciones alejadas de todo. Se trata de un retrato íntimo de dos personas que sólo pueden ser ellas mismas cuando están solas: sus rituales, sus tonterías o sus sueños incumplidos... Sin embargo, su encuentro con otra pareja aparentemente más exitosa, va a desestabilizar el equilibrio que existía entre ellos.

La madre de Vincent ha muerto, pero él jura cumplir su sueño de ver el mar por última vez. Vincent sufre de síndrome de Tourette y su padre lo ha internado en una clínica. Una serie de acontecimientos desencadenados por un evento nimio conecta las vidas de los protagonistas de esta película: una inmigrante rumana, un profesor de música, una actriz y su novio que es fotógrafo de guerra, así como el hermano de éste, que intenta por todos los medios no heredar la granja de su padre.
