Inside a warehouse in Palermo, a group of people smashes a man’s arm to pieces with a wheelie bag packed with weights. This is the method used by an amateur criminal organization that fractures the limbs of its willing victims before staging fake accidents and raking in the insurance payouts. Vincenzo recruits the individuals from among the down-and-outs that haunt the city streets, where Luisa is a habitué, since she gets her crack there. Vincenzo’s problems suddenly get worse, though, after a series of mistakes shut him out of the gang, and Luisa is now his only chance: he convinces her to have her bones broken.

This film tells the story of three defeats: Berlusconi’s political and human defeat in his “twilight”, the one of Ciccio Mirra, Berlusconi’s unconditional supporter, deeply rooted in an ancient culture that dies hard, and the director’s artistic defeat in an Italy that recognised itself in this “Berlusconian culture” for a long time, and probably still does.

Tres historias sobre los defectos de las mujeres y la búsqueda desesperada del hombre ideal. En la segunda, el conserje Rocco y su amigo Michele tocan en un grupo que emula a los Beatles: el primero tiene que enfrentarsae a la oposición de su novia, una maestra que trabaja en la misma escuela que él, y el segundo miente a su mujer, que cree que ha dejado la música para siempre. Tras pelearse con su novia, Rocco se instala en casa de Michele y, entonces las mentiras de su amigo amenazan con salir a la luz. Relato épico que abarca tres generaciones, desde los años 30 hasta la actualidad, usando como telón de fondo el nacimiento del fascismo (Marcha sobre Roma, 1922), la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945) y la política italiana de la postguerra. Fue seleccionada por Italia como candidata al Oscar 2010 en la categoría de película de habla no inglesa.

Ficarra & Picone return to the scene with a new work entitled I'm These things happen and directed by Giambattista Avellino. The center is the man and the phases of its most salient life: love lost or regain, the love that makes us suffer because "the difficulty is not engaged but let ...", love of which we do not notice, "I love her, but I look around and there are hundreds of females, and I am the hunter"; the death of a relative who becomes a spectacle, because the funeral in Sicily can only be representation. But Ficarra & Picone go further, they discover that there is another kind of love, another kind of death and another rebirth. She teaches him a mysterious relative, Uncle Pino.
