La cuarta y última entrega de Rebuild of Evangelion. Misato y su grupo anti-NERV Wille llegan a París, una ciudad roja por la coreización. La tripulación del Wunder aterriza en una torre de contención. Tienen 720 segundos para restaurar la ciudad. La espectacular batalla entre los Evangelion, las máquinas de combate definitivas creadas por la humanidad, y las insondables entidades conocidas como ángeles se intensifica hasta alcanzar el punto de ruptura a partir del cual ya nada volverá a ser como antes. Bajo el incesante ataque invasor, la agencia NERV activa dos nuevas unidades de Eva pilotadas por la misteriosa Mari Illustrious Makinami y la agresiva Asuka Langley Shikinami. Por su parte, Shinji Ikari trata de soportar la presión del gran destino que le ha sido encomendado como piloto del Eva 01 con el único propósito de ganarse el afecto de su padre. Pero Gendo Ikari tiene su propia agenda secreta que incluye utilizar a su hijo y a la enigmática Rei Ayanami para despertar al Eva 01 y provocar el Tercer Impacto mucho antes de lo previsto.
