1944年、ノルマンディー上陸作戦の2カ月後。アメリカ軍第517空挺部隊は、南フランスのドイツ占領地域に落下傘降下した。だが敵軍の攻撃により、ロッシ、カーティス、ジョーンズの3人の兵士が本隊からはぐれてしまう。合流した彼らは、本隊を目指して敵陣を進むが、途中、現地レジスタンスの女性、エミリーと出会う。本隊の場所を知る彼女は、案内する交換条件として、敵に捕まった仲間を救ってほしいと頼む。
During the 1940s, a group of young men go off to war, leaving behind Ethel Ann, who is in love with one of them, Teddy.
