1835년, 노르망디의 작은 마을. 청년 피에르 리비에르는 어머니와 여동생 그리고 어린 남동생까지 모두 살해한다. 이 끔찍한 사건을 벌인 후 체포된 피에르는 재판을 기다리는데, 그는 그동안 어떤 일이 있었는지 써내려 가기 시작한다. 프랑스 철학자 미셸 푸코는 실제 일어났던 존속살해사건에 대한 방대한 자료들을 정리해 동명의 책을 펴냈고, 이를 알리오가 영화화했다. 알리오는 「카이에 뒤 시네마」의 편집인이자 시나리오작가인 파스칼 보니체와 세르주 투비아나와 함께 각색 작업을 했으며, 사건이 일어났던 마을에서 실제 주민들을 섭외해 촬영하여 긴장감과 리얼리티를 배가시켰다.

시이나 카루호의 만화 원작을 영화화한 작품. 사와코는 겉으로 보기엔 굉장히 우울해 보이지만 사실은 아주 당차고 긍정적인 소녀로 인기 만점의 같은 학교 남학생 쇼타를 남몰래 좋아한다. 사와코의 밝은 마음가짐을 알게 되면서 쇼타 또한 남몰래 그녀에 대한 감정을 키운다. 어느 날 사와코는 처음으로 친구들을 사귀게 되지만 사와코의 마음을 눈치 챈 친구들은 곧 쇼타를 좋아하지 말라고 하는데... 과연 사와코와 쇼타는 서로의 감정을 확인할 수 있을까?
