네바다의 눈덮인 산맥, 물산이 핍절한 산골 주민들은 고육지책으로 강도떼가 된다. 그들을 없애려고 바운티 헌터들이 그들을 찾아 온다. 산골 주민들은 킬러를 고용한다. 그 중간에서 보안관은 이도저도 안된다. 그리고 갈들이 폭발하고 사람들은 떼거지로 죽는다. 그리고 살아남는 자는 살아남을 이유가 없는 사람들이다. 서부극 사상, 유일하게 뿌연 먼지대신 하얀 눈벌만 잔뜩 나오는 영화. 배경부터 범상치 않은 것처럼 이 영화는 모든 서부극의 틀을 부숴버리고 결말마저 뒤틀린 채 끝나버린다. 이 영화의 결말은 일반 영화에서도 찾아보기 힘든 부류이다. 이 삐딱하고 냉소적인 시선은 주인공들에게서도 나타난다. 아무리 봐도 악당인 클라우스 킨스키와, 선역이라지만 아무런 말도 없는 사일런스 장 루이 트렝티냥의 대결은 기이한 대결로 시작해서 기이한 대결로 끝난다. 아마 개봉당시에도 말이 많았는지 아예 얼터 엔딩이 따로 존재할 정도였다. 출처: https://canicula.tistory.com/1479 [荊軻宿]

루키 루크(Lucky Luke: 테렌스 힐 분)가 졸리 점퍼라고 불리는 그의 애마와 함께 데이지 타운에 나타난다. 데이지 타운은 무법자들의 천국으로 그들에 의해 다스려지는 마을이다. 루크는 힘이 곧 법인 그곳에 보안관으로 임명되고 무법자들을 물리치기 위해 다스려지는 마을이다. 루크는 힘이 곧 법인 그곳에 보안관으로 임명되고 무법자들을 물리치기 시작한다. 그 이야기를 전해 들은 최고의 악당 들턴 형제는 루크를 제거하려 하나 실패로 돌아가자 인디언들을 부추켜 마을을 공격한다. 그러나 그것 역시 루키의 재치에 의해서 실패로 돌아간다. 결국 루크는 악당들을 모두 일망타진하고 데이지 타운은 백인과 인디언이 서로 싸우지 않은 평화스러운 마을이 된다.

1907년, 아일랜드 테러리스트인 아버지와 함께 중남미를 떠돌던 마리아II(잔느 모로)는 폭탄테러를 감행하다가 아버지를 잃는다. 그리고 우연히 ‘보드빌 서커스단’의 가수인 동명의 마리아I(브리짓 바르도)를 만나면서 그녀의 일생이 바뀌게 된다. 두 마리아는 서커스 무대에 함께 서기로 결심하고 첫 무대에 서는데, 우연히 파격적인 스트립쇼를 선보이면서 서커스는 대성황을 누리게 된다. 아버지를 잃은 슬픔을 잊기 위해 서커스단에서의 일상에 익숙해지려고 애쓰는 마리아II 앞에 혁명가인 플로레스(조지 해밀턴)가 나타난다. 그는 독재자와 자본가, 그리고 권위적인 교회에 대한 혁명을 주장하는 인물이다. 결국 마리아II는 플로레스와 운명적인 사랑에 빠지게 되고 마리아I과 함께 혁명에 동참하게 된다. 결국 그들은 자신들도 모르는 사이에 혁명세력의 상징적인 존재로 부각된다. 그러던 어느날 플로레스는 큰 부상을 입고 사경을 헤매게 된다. 두 마리아는 플로레스에게 혁명을 완수하기로 맹세하는데...

결국 또 다시 빈털터리가 된 밤비노와 튜니티. 집으로 돌아온 두 사람에게 아버지는 곧 죽을 것 같은 시늉을 하며 유언을 남긴다. 밤비노에게 동생 튜니티를 잘 가르쳐 훌륭한 말 도둑으로 키우라는 것. 함께 길을 나선 이 형제는 마차를 떨려다 오히려 이들을 도와주게 되고 얼떨결에 연방 수사관 행세를 하게 된다. 덕분에 무기 밀매 전문인 파커 일당의 음모를 알게 되고, 이들의 무기 밀매 대금을 차지하기 위해 수도원을 무대로 치고 박고 쫓고 쫓기는 일대 활극을 펼치게 된다.
