시놉시스
남북전쟁-내전으로 인해 아버지와 오빠가 전장에 나가게 되면서 외딴 집에 동생-루이스(헤일리 스테인펠드), 그리고 하인-매드(무나 오타루)와 함께 살고 있던 오거스타(브릿 말링) 앞에 2명의 정찰병이 나타나게 되는데, 영화는 이를 통해 ‘전쟁/욕망은 모든 것을 앗아간다.’ 주제를 드러내고 있다.
13살 때 사촌누나로부터 성을 경험한 필립은 제복 입은 여자에게 특히 매료된다. 간호사와 사귀고 싶어 치과의사가 된 필립은 자기 병원 간호사를 애인으로 삼아 섹스를 즐기는 한편 색다른 제복의 여성을 찾는다. 그는 여자 주차단속원을 강간한 후 증거를 남기지 않기 위해 살해해버린다. 한편 여자 밝힘증 때문에 감옥에 갔던 건달 통치는 출감해 이 사건에 휘말린다.
