シノプシス
舞台は太平洋戦争末期において激戦が繰り広げられたサイパン島。わずか47人の兵で45,000人もの米軍を巧みな戦略で翻弄し米兵らから畏敬の念を込めて「フォックス」と呼ばれた実在の人物、大場栄陸軍大尉。タッポーチョ山を拠点とした大場とその部隊が1945年8月のポツダム宣言受諾以降も孤立された状況下でその事実を信用することができず戦い続けた実話に元にしたフィクションを日米双方から描く。
大都市LAの中心部に突然出現した火山から流れ出る溶岩流と、それに立ち向かう人々の姿をSFXを駆使して描いたパニック・スペクタクル。登場人物ひとりひとりのドラマの演出が秀逸。
