Prix et Profits is a 20-minute short film originally made for educational purposes and released in 9.5mm format. As the title suggests, the film follows the supply chain of a potato, from farmers to consumers, and examines the mechanisms of capitalism.
The magical tale of a mouse who sets foot on a woodland adventure in search of a nut. Encountering predators who all wish to eat him - Fox, Owl and Snake - the brave mouse creates a terrifying, imaginary monster to frighten them away. But what will the mouse do when he meets this frightful monster for real?
The remaining fragments of an early Ozu film. It is the simple story of two friends who live together in a poor tenement and who share about everything in life (food, hopes, work...). Everything goes well until they gallantly rescue a young (and pretty) woman injured in a road accident. Since the lady has nowhere to go, the two good-hearted friends invite her to their home. She soon becomes their housemaid and they soon begin to seek her favors. Alas, she falls for a young student she has met in the neighborhood, much to the two friends' dismay.

퀘이 형제 초기 작품으로 얀 슈반크마예르를 본뜬 인형(퍼핏)이 여러 주제에 대해 가르치는 구성을 갖고 있다. 펼쳐진 책을 머리에 쓴 슈반크마예르와 달리 강의를 듣는 인형(퍼핏)의 머리는 텅 빈 상태인데, 강의가 진행될 때마다 유사한 주제의 책으로 머리의 빈 공간이 채워지는 걸 볼 수 있다. 아홉 번의 강의마다 슈반크마예르 영화의 중요성이 다양하게 드러나며, 여러 영화적 기술이 특이하게 조합된 것이 특징이다.
어두침침한 방 안에 남자와 여자가 있다. 방 밖으로 희고 밝은 해부실이 줄지어 있고 그곳에서는 인간을 대상으로 한 해부가 은밀히 진행 중이다. 아무래도 남자와 여자는 다음 해부 대상인 듯하다. 로코코 화가 장 오노레 프라고나르의 회화에서 영감을 받은 이 퍼핏 애니메이션은 내러티브는 존재하지만 그 주제나 의미는 쉽게 파악되지 않는다. ‘개인이 시스템 내에서 어떤 영향력을 미칠 수 있는가’와 같은 주제를 암시하는 작품이다.
침대에서 잠든 아름다운 여인의 머리맡에 머리빗이 놓여 있다. 빗은 여인의 마음과 꿈에 침투하는 것만 같다.
기이한 이미지에 집착하는 퀘이 형제의 독특한 취향이 이 애니메이션에서 완벽하게 실현된다. 16세기에서 17세기 회화 작품에서는 보는 각도에 따라 감상이 달라지도록 하는 테크닉이 유행했는데, 퀘이 형제는 여기에서 그 기법을 사용해 시각적 효과를 주고 있다.
실험주의 록 밴드 ‘히즈 네임 이즈 얼라이브 His Name Is Alive’의 음악을 사운드트랙으로 하는 3분짜리 안무 애니메이션. 봉제 인형, 흰 토끼, 종잡을 수 없이 움직이는 탁구공의 어울리지 않는 조합을 보고 있으면 최면에 빠진 듯한 묘한 매력이 느껴지면서, 동시에 어떤 사건이 일어날 것만 같은 조마조마한 기분이 들기도 한다. 마치 막스 에른스트가 만든 뮤직비디오를 보는 듯하다. 이 섬세한 흑백 영상은 러닝타임이 짧지만 퀘이 형제의 걸작으로 평가받는다.
A business man in his 30s, with an expense account, checks into a hotel, exchanging smiles and pleasantries with the desk clerk, a woman of beauty and style. Once in his room, he listens again to a voice message on his cell phone: his lover tells him she is breaking up with him; he is not spontaneous; she has found someone else; don't call. He throws his phone down. When he reaches beneath the bed to retrieve it, he finds a Polaroid photograph of a partially nude woman posed provocatively; it includes a phone number and a sexual question. He opens a beer and stares at the photo. If he calls, what then?
