Original Story
The gorgeous Spirited Away stage play is getting a theatrical release from GKids. The movie version of the play was filmed during the production’s 2022 run at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo. Based on the critically-acclaimed Studio Ghibli film of the same name, Spirited Away tells the story of a young girl named Chihiro who finds herself trapped in a mysterious bath house inhabited by spirits; her parents have also been sucked into the spirit world, and so Chihiro must save them (and herself) and return to the human world. The stage production uses puppets and practical effects to recreate the movie’s iconic characters and beautiful visuals.

From July 21 through September 10th, 2007, the Museum for Contemporary Art Tokyo held an exhibition honouring Kazuo Oga, the art director and background artist for many famed works from Japan's Studio Ghibli. Over 600 works from the artist were on display, and numerous fans flocked to the one-of-a-kind exhibition celebrating the lush, gorgeous background artwork typifying many a work from Hayao Miyazaki and other Ghibli filmmakers. Yasuo Ōtsuka was the mentor of Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki, the man who taught them to feel the joy of animation. As the supervising animator of their films and through the creation of superb scenes such as Lupin leaping from turret to turret in Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro, Ōtsuka made the impossible believable, and touched people’s emotions. Kuso no Sora Tobu Kikaitachi (Imaginary Flying Machines) is a 2002 Japanese animated short film produced by Studio Ghibli for their near exclusive use in the Ghibli Museum. It features director Hayao Miyazaki as the narrator, in the form of a humanoid pig, reminiscent of Porco from Porco Rosso, telling the story of flight and the many machines imagined to achieve it.

Often credited as the reason for Studio Ghibli's strict "no cuts" policy for international releases of their works, Warriors of the Wind is a heavily-edited American version of Hayao Miyazaki's 1984 film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. In order to market the film as family-friendly, approximately 22 minutes of the original film are cut out in this version, resulting in a thoroughly altered story. Much of the original cast of characters are also renamed, including Nausicaä, who is in this version called Princess Zandra.

アリババ33世。初代アリババが手に入れた莫大な財宝も、32世までで半分を、そして33世があとの半分を使い切って、もはや残るのは古ぼけたランプがただ一つ。実はこれがこすると魔物が出てきて何でもするというランプなのだ。しかしランプの魔物、猫がいるとまるでダメ。そこで徹底的な猫狩りが行われる。そんな時、捕らえられた猫を助けたのがアル・ハック。彼は猫の英雄として38匹の猫と共に反抗に立ち上がった。

Hayato's home city is under attack from a gigantic robot. His parents are lying dead in the rubble and the only remaining friend is his dog. His only thought now is revenge against the owner of the Phantom Ship (from where the robot said he was sent). He ends up in the house of Kuroshio, the leader of the fight against the Phantom Ship and the most important person in the city. By complete accident, Hayato finds his way to an underground passageway where he realises that the true nature of events does not mesh with what Kuroshio has told him. His life is now in great danger, and only he can stop the plans of the evildoers.

何百年も昔のこと、ある国に、心の優しい少年ピエールと長靴をはいた勇気のある猫ペロが住んでいた。ピエールは、お金持の家に育ったが、父が死ぬと、遺産目あての欲張りの兄たちに追いだされ、ペロはネズミを助けたことから仲間はずれにされてしまった。彼らは、、ある雨の日に同じ農家に雨やどりしたことから仲良しになり、旅をすることになった。野山を越え、川や湖を渡って辿りついたお城で、ピエールは素晴らしい貼紙を見て喜んだ。それには、この世で一番お金持ちで、武勇にすぐれた若者をローザ姫のお婿さんにする、と書いてあった。ところが、世界各国からは、王子や騎士たちが続々とつめかけ、手段を尽して姫の機嫌をとり結び、魔王ルシファも魔力を駆使して婿になろうとはかった。だが、ローザに申し出を断られると城を廃虚にし、王をブタにかえてしまい、満月の晩に姫を迎えに来ると言い残して去って行った。広間に忍びこみ、一部始終を見聞ききしたペロは、魔王を退治すれば、ピエールがお婿さんになるのだと悟った。そんな折ペロは迷子になった子ネズミを助けた。これを恩にきたネズミたちは、ペロの家来になって活躍し、ピエールは、姫に会うことが出来たのだった。満月の晩、ピエールは身分を打明け、姫はこの汚れを如らぬりりしい若者に心を奪われたが、ぴったり定刻に現われた魔王に連れさられてしまった。ピエールはペロやネズミの家来を連れて魔王の城にやって来た。魔王は姫との婚礼の宴にご機嫌。ペロのお世辞に乗って、いろいろな動物に化けて見せるのだった。だが、魔王はピエールたちが魔法のペンダントを狙っていることを知り、彼らを穴ぐらに、閉じこめてしまった。やがて、魔王の后になることを条件にみんなの命乞いをした姫が、一瞬の隙をついてペンダントを手に入れ穴ぐらに投げ込んだ。ピエールは、城の塔に逃げペンダントを高くかかげた。その時、山陰から朝日が昇り、追いかけて来た魔王は城とともに飛び散ってしまった。こうして、平和に戻ったお城でピエールと姫は結ばれ、ペロとともに幸福な日々を送るのだった。

海辺に父と二人で住むホルスは、岩男のモーグの肩に刺さっていた二本の剣を手に入れた。 その剣は太陽の剣と呼ばれる名剣で、その剣を鍛え上げ、使いこなせるようになった時、ホルスは太陽の王子 とよばようとモーグは言う。 父を失ったホルスは、一切合切を焼くと、父の遺言に従い人々のいる北の村に向かってコロとともに舟出した 。再びこの地に帰ることはない。 途中ホルスは悪魔グルンワルドに弟になれと誘われるが断って、崖から落とされてしまう。ホルスは 倒れたまま流氷にのって村に流れ着いた。ホルスは村の一員として受入れられるかに思えたが、グルンワルドのたくらみで村に送り込まれた一人の 少女ヒルダのために、村人達の不信を買い、とうとう村を追い出されてしまう。悪魔が勝つかに見えた。 しかしヒルダの心の奥底には、密かに人間らしさへの憧れが兆していた。悪魔の攻撃が始まった。ホルスは 人々を励まし、力をあわせて太陽の剣を鍛え上げ、ついに悪魔を倒した。ヒルダも仲間に受け入れられる。

森の動物たちを守る母犬シロは虎のキラーに恨みを買ってしまう。キラーの手下のキツネのアカミミにおびき出されたシロは、虎のキラーに崖から突き落とされ、命を落としてしまう。シロの子ロックは復讐を誓い、キラーとアカミミを倒しに行くが、子犬のロックではとてもかなわなかった。森の動物たちに救われたロックは町に出て野良犬たちと出会う。町の野良犬たちの中で、虎に単身闘いを挑んだロックは人望を集めるが、アカミミの策略で倉庫荒らしに仕立て上げられ、樽の中に入れられ海に捨てられてしまう。やがて時がたち、森の動物たちは人間につかまって動物園に連れていかれてしまう。森の動物たちがいなくなり獲物がなくなったキラーはアカミミの進言により自ら動物園に入り、そこでも森の動物たちを虐げる。かたや海に捨てられたロックは流れ着いた島の少女に命を救われ、成犬に成長していた。ツバメから森の動物たちの状況を聞いたロックは島を抜け出し町に戻り、かつての仲間、野良犬たちと再会する。宿敵キラーを倒す為、ロックは雪の寒い日、町中の野良犬たちを引き連れて動物園に向かう。ローラーコースターの上でロックとキラーの最後の戦いが繰り広げられる。
