네브라스카 주의 링컨이라는 작은 도시에 사는 티나 브랜던(Teena Brandon/Brandon Teena: 힐러리 스웽크 분)은 절도 혐의로 수배 중이다. 그녀는 수배를 피해 장난삼아 머리를 자르고 남장을 한다. 남장을 하고 우연히 들른 술집에서 치한에게 놀림을 당하던 캔디스(Candace: 알리시아 고랜슨 분)라는 여자를 도와준 인연으로 티나 브랜던은 그녀의 집에 머물며, 그녀의 친구들과 친하게 지낸다. 작은 시골 마을 풀즈에서 지금까지 그녀가 살아왔던 것과는 전혀 다른 새로운 인생을 살게 된다. 이젠 남자로서. 그곳에서 만난 친구들은 그녀에게 남자로서의 새로운 경험들을 제공한다. 이런 경험들은 지금까지 그녀가 잊고 지내던, 또한 억누르고 지내야 해던 남자로서의 본능과 너무나도 잘 맞았다. 더욱 중요한 것은 그녀에게 이제 당당한 여자 친구가 생겼다는 것이다. 친구의 이름은 라나 티셀로 보랜든과는 여로모로 잘 맞았다. 그러나 그녀에게는 그녀를 좋아하던 남자 친구 존(John: 피터 사스가드 분)이 있었다. 존은 친구 탐(Tom: 브렌든 섹스톤 3세 분)과 함께 강도짓도 서슴없이 하고 다니는 거친 성격의 소유자였다. 그러다보니 티나, 아니 이제는 브랜던 티나로 이름을 바꾼 브랜던과의 불편한 사이가 계속된다. 브랜던이 운전하던 자동차가 과속으로 경찰의 단속에 걸리게 되고 그 자리에서 위조된 면허증을 제시한 것이 발각되어 며칠 후, 남장을 했던 그녀의 정체가 드러나게 된다. 그리고 이 사실을 알게 된 존과 탐은 브랜던을 발가벗기고 그녀가 여자임을 밝힌다. 여기에 존의 복수심과 질투심은 급기야 여자로서의 정체가 온마을에 드러난 브랜던을 성폭행하는 일까지 벌어지게 되는데.

본래 캐시 제이는 페미니스트 였으며 원래는 남성인권단체를 비판할 목적으로 그들과 인터뷰했으나, 하지만 캐시 제이의 생각과 달리 남성인권단체가 주장하는 것들이 정말 옳다고 생각하여서 아예 남성인권 다큐멘터리를 제작하게 되었으며 그 과정에서 캐시 제이는 페미니스트를 관두기를 선언했다. 이름의 유래는 역시 1번의 매트릭스의 빨간약에서 따온 개념으로, 캐시 제이가 그간 가지고있던 남성은 항상 권력자의 위치에 있으며 혐오, 차별의 대상이 될 수 없다고 믿어왔던 기존의 페미니스트로써의 신념을 버리고 남성인권에도 관심을 가지게 되었다는 의미이다. 당연하지만 미국의 여성인권단체의 각종 항의로 인해서 몇번 극장에서 상영취소가 되기도 하였다.

In 2015, Tsai Ming-Liang was once again invited by the Hong Kong International Film Festival to make the opening short film. This time, he selected Shibuya station in Tokyo as his main filming location and invited the famous Japanese actor Masanobu Ando to appear alongside Lee Kang-Sheng. They sleep separately at a capsule hotel and cleanse themselves at a public bath. Their fatigued bodies yearn for sleep but restless minds keep them for falling asleep. "No No Sleep" won the Best Director Award at the Taipei Film Festival.

In 2012, the Hong Kong International Film Festival invited Tsai Ming-Ling to make the opening short film. Having grown up with Hong Kong's popular culture, Tsai Ming-Liang decided to pay homage by making a "Walker" film, contrasting the Walker's slowness with the frenzied pace of Hong Kong's cosmopolitan life. The film ends with a song by Hong Kong actor and singer Samuel Hui, who was Tsai Ming-Liang's idol during his youth. The film was invited to be the closing short film for the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.

는 유럽과 비유럽권 감독이 짝을 이뤄 공동연출로 하나의 작품을 만드는 DOX:LAB의 프로젝트이다. 에서는 멕시코의 니콜라스 페레다와 편집기사 출신의 덴마크 감독 야콥 세세르 쉴싱에르가 만났다. 서로 다른 배경과 미학적 태도를 가진 두 감독을 하나로 묶는다는 아이디어의 위험성, 더구나 두 사람은 일면식도 없는 관계였으니 상당한 모험인 셈이다. 영화는 1910년 멕시코 혁명에 합류하기 위해 사막을 표랑하는 세 젊은이를 좇는 이야기와 박물관 모양의 거실에서 이루어지는 배우들의 오디션을 병치하고 있다. 멕시코 편은 픽션, 오디션 편은 다큐멘터리 푸티지처럼 연출되었다. 전문 배우가 출연한 멕시코 편은 조용하고, 오디션 편은 비전문 배우들의 열연으로 뜨겁다. 거듭되는 두 갈래 서사의 교차는 ‘관점들의 교환’처럼 보인다. 긍정하든, 부정하든 특정한 지역의 감독들은 그 지역의 영화를 만든다. 유럽적인 것과 라틴 아메리카적인 것의 교환, 지역과 정서, 미학의 교환을 확인할 수 있다. easy love is the experimental fiction debut of Tamer Jandali. His way of working shifted between documentary and fiction when he followed seven men and women from Cologne on their search for a balance between emotional security and sensual fulfillment. In four months of shooting those protagonists acted as braver versions of themselves. The camera opened the possibility to pursue their unlived dreams, fears and fantasies and ultimately experiencing them in reality. By shooting in a small team, always on the edge between documentary and fiction, Tamer Jandali created space for intimacy and a new form of cinematic authenticity.
